2013 PREMIER CUVÉE BRUT BLANC DE BLANCS
The Western Cape of South Africa is the massive region surrounding Cape town on South Africa’s southwest shore. Wines of countless styles and varieties are produced here, including excellent sparkling wines. Graham Beck is a storied producer of the region, having produced excellent wines from the family farm in Robertson since 1983. The fruit in the 2013 Blanc de Blancs is 100% Chardonnay from the Robertson sub region, which imparts fresh, lime minerality and mouth watering acidity. A soft mousse leads the vibrant citrus notes onwards to a smooth, delicate, biscuity finish.

WITH FOOD
The juicy acidity of the Blanc de Blancs is matched by the streaks of lime and tangerine that are found throughout the mouth, giving the wine excellent capacity to pair with food. The lighter the fare the better: oysters, canapés, and foie gras are perfect options.

FROM THE WINEMAKER
“Rich aromas of fresh lime and ripe apricot fruit on the nose. An exciting fine mousse with an explosion of tangerines on the palate. Great brioche and yeast complexity broaden the palate, leading to a long, elegant finish.”

EXPERT OPINION
“Lovely bubbly here with notes of brioche, hay bale, lemon peel and crunchy apple. Zesty and bright with a crisp, dry, mouth-watering finish. Stellar value. A brilliant choice for tempura, lightly breaded fish, or peameal bacon sammies.” –LCBO Vintages Tasting Panel

ACCOLADES & PRESS
Gold Award: International Wine and Spirits Competition 2017 (IWSC)
Double Gold: Veritas 2017
91 / 100 Points: “The 2012 Blanc de Blancs, pure Chardonnay of course, contains 7.5 grams per liter of residual sugar, 50% of the cuvée matured in 205-liter barrels, remaining on the secondary lees for 36 months. It has an exquisite bouquet with lemon, hints of white peach and apple blossom that is very well defined and seductive. The palate is crisp and taut on the entry, upholding the linearity and austerity you expect from a Blanc de Blancs whilst delivering flavor right on the finish, with subtle hints of dried mango and Golden Delicious. Excellent—this is the best Blanc de Blancs I have tasted from Graham Beck.” –N. Martin, Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, #230 (2012 Vintage)
