At every price level, the wines of Villa Cafaggio deliver superior value, making them consistent favourites of Tuscan wine lovers around the world.
2013 CHIANTI CLASSICO
Produced from 100% Sangiovese grown in the vineyards immediately surrounding the estate in the heart of the “Conca d’Oro” (or “Golden Baisin”) – one of the most respected and renowned grape growing areas in the Chianti Classico. These vineyards are planted at high density and thrive on the ideal south and southeastern facing slopes, ensuring plentiful morning sun. The grapes for this wine are harvested by hand, beginning in late September through early October, followed by traditional winemaking and extended aging in both barrel and bottle before the wine finally reaches the customer.
It’s affinity for some of the world’s favourite foods, like pasta, pizza, grilled meats and braised meat dishes make Chianti Classico – such as this brilliant new release from Cafaggio – amongst the most widely enjoyed wines made anywhere. Serve this delicious red with your favourite rustic Italian fare – especially pasta with red sauce, or grilled meats. The signature red fruit and bright refreshing acidity of the Sangiovese grape make it an ideal wine to enjoy at the table with food.
“Offers a rounded profile, filled with cherry, raspberry and spice flavors. This is driven as much by the vivid acidity as the refined tannins, ending with elements of fruit, spice and mineral. Drink now through 2022. Smart Buy.” (Bruce Sanderson / WineSpectator.com)
