Severine Lemoine, along with her sister Melanie Bourrelly, operate a family estate which is rapidly becoming a source for one of the hottest and most sought after collection of red wines in France’s southern Rhone. Here, Severine and Melanie oversee and estate totalling near 150 acres across several appellations, with about half this property falling within Lirac. Production from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Clairette, Carignan, Clairette Blanc and Grenache Blanc comes from vineyards all more than 30 years old – and some more than 40 years old. This family wine estate began the transition to organic farming in 2010 – with releases after 2013 all certified organic. The style here at Domaine la Rocaliere emphasizes finesse, balance, complexity and minerality, within the expected rich and ripe frame of classic southern Rhone wines.
