PRODUCER PROFILE:
Born in Yumbel in the Bio Bio Valley, Manuel Humberto Moraga Gutiérrez is the 7th generation (dating back to the conquistadors!) owner of Cacique Maravilla: he has a lifelong relationship with the land and the farm. With the first vines planted in 1766, today, his wines are still made naturally with a traditional, ancestral approach. Committed to showcasing the grapes’ characteristics by preserving Chile’s agriculture and honouring its historical winemaking traditions, the vineyards are dry-farmed for a fuller expression of the unique volcanic soils and all farm work is done organically.
