PRODUCER PROFILE:
Champagne Moutard is an historic family estate tracing its origins in Champagne back to 1642, and the origins of its flagship Cote des Bars vineyard site back as far as the Roman era. Today, this site, planted atop characteristic clay/limestone soils, is home to the three main grapes of Champagne – Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Both the Rose and Grande Cuvee bottlings from Moutard are produced from 100% Pinot Noir, grapes are carefully hand harvested and vinified in stainless steel tanks to preserve purity and freshness, with additional complexity achieved through the use of older reserve stocks.
