With the holiday season entertaining and family gatherings now in the rearview mirror, we begin enter one of my favourite eating seasons – namely, hearty slow cooked winter fare. Sure, the cold and blustery weather we expect each January puts a chill in the air, but there’s no reason not to bring some warmth home with the flavours of an amazing slow cooked Sunday meal. These recipes don’t have to be terribly fancy or involved, but part of their magic is found in the process of letting them come together slowly over the course of an entire day, infusing your home with delicious aromas – and anticipation. Today we’ve assembled a collection including 5 amazingly delicious recipes along with equally complex, bold and full-flavoured wines at eminently reasonable prices.
