DE CHANCENY
France’s Loire Valley, slightly south and to the west of the famous sparkling wines of Champagne, is one of the great sources for delicious and fragrant sparkling wines – at amazing prices! This fine producer of Loire Cremant employs many of the same methods utilized in Champagne – lovingly producing a collection of delicious handcrafted sparkling wines from local Loire grapes.

2013 VOUVRAY BRUT EXCELLENCE
Produced from 100% Chenin Blanc and aged for a minimum of 24 months, this work of sparkling brilliance brings together the best of bubbly and the Chenin Blanc grape in a single bottle. Chenin Blanc, well known for producing zippy, honeyed citrus fruit driven whites is a brilliant grape for producing sparkling wines that are distinctively not Champagne – but incredibly delicious in their own special way. This bubbly delivers a perfect combination of roasted nuts and toasty brioche along with bright lemon and grapefruit flavours and aromas.

WITH FOOD
Well-made sparkling wines are amongst the most food-versatile wines on the planet. You can match this up with anything from salty munchies before dinner, to soft, mild and indulgent cheeses, to beef carpaccio, to seafood, white fish, chicken and even lighter pork dishes. Oh yeah – it’s also pretty compelling all on its own as an aperitif and dockside sipper.

EXPERT OPINION
“Winner of a Silver Medal at the 2015 Concours Général Agricole in Mâcon, this dry sparkler is made with 100% Chenin Blanc. Enticing aromas of freshly baked biscuits, lemon turnover, grapefruit zest, yellow plum and candle wax introduce a zesty, juicy, bright bubbly with flavours that really pop. You’re left with a long, lemony finish. Pair with seafood or veggie tempura.”
