PRODUCER PROFILE:
Based in the village of Saint-Aubin, the Roux family own 70 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. The origins of Domaines Roux date back to 1885, and the current generation (brothers Sébastien and Mathieu) have propelled Domaines Roux forward as one of the leading quality oriented producers of Burgundy. This modern and forward-looking company sees its wines exported extensively to major wine markets throughout the world. Today, Domaines Roux is one of the 10 largest land-holders in Burgundy, putting this label in a unique position to control production and quality from the very beginning of the production cycle. The vineyards of Domaines Roux cover most of the best-known appellations – all the way up to Grand Crus – with their most extensive and appreciated holdings in the villages of St-Aubin, Pommard and Corton-Charlemagne. Also of particular note, the vineyards of Domaine Roux are planted exclusively on the most sought-after south and southeast facing slopes of the various terroirs across they farm.
