PRODUCER PROFILE:
To understand and appreciate the wines of Jules Taylor, one needs to understand the story that brought these extraordinary small-batch wines to life. Having studied zoology, only to discover a shortage of available positions in her field, Jules continued her studies in the sciences, this time focusing on the farming and chemistry involved in producing great wines. Upon completion of her post-graduate studies in Oenology and Viticulture, Jules Taylor went on to get her hands dirty working abroad in Italy and Australia, only to return and gain hands-on experience with New Zealand wine pioneers and icons Kim Crawford and Cloudy Bay, to name just a few. A couple hundred cases of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, adorned by labels carrying her name, were the catalyst for what is today a leading small production, craft winery in New Zealand’s Marlborough region.
