These exclusive alliances with the top Chateaux and its impressive depth of stocks have enabled the company to be one of the most trusted and sought out partners on the “Place de Bordeaux”, ensuring perfect provenance and exceptional expert guidance to its exacting French and International clientele.
Clarence Dillon Wines’ business is driven by a set of clear values: respect for the heritage of this family-owned firm, trust, reliability and a quest for excellence in customer service.
A Story Inspired by Haut-Brion
Clarendelle, Bordeaux’s first premium family of wine, is the brainchild of Prince Robert de Luxembourg who took over running of the eminent Domaine Clarence Dillon group in 2008. Created in 2005 and named in honour of Mr. Clarence Dillon, Prince Robert de Luxembourg’s great-grandfather who acquired Château Haut-Brion in 1935, the Clarendelle group also includes Château Haut-Brion, La Mission Haut-Brion, and Château Quintus.
Prince Robert says:
“As a young man, living in London, I had neither a cellar nor a significant budget that would allow me to store and acquire classified growths from Bordeaux. I loved the wines from this region and my tastes had been greatly influenced by my annual stays at Château Haut-Brion. I was looking for fine blended wines with some bottle age, an authentic reflection of the South West terroirs and marked by the unique originality of each vintage. They needed to be affordable and dependable while nonetheless displaying complexity, elegance, and balance. This is how the Clarendelle family of wines was conceived and ultimately born.”
The Clarendelle Family
Clarendelle, inspired by Haut-Brion, offers wines which embody the subtle balance between savoir-faire and a resolutely contemporary expression of the French art de vivre. Perfectly aged fine blended wines authentically reflect the world renowned Bordeaux terroir, with consistency and uncompromising quality, displaying complexity, elegance, and balance.
A member of the eminent Domaine Clarence Dillon family of wines (Haut-Brion, La Mission Haut-Brion and Quintus), the style of the Clarendelle wines is dictated by an expression of the Bordeaux terroir which aims to produce subtle elegance in age-worthy wines.
