Alfredo Roca Winery, situated in San Rafael, is an historic 4th generation family winery whose experience, passion and dedication to crafting quality wines is immediately evident in every bottle they produce. Originally constructed in 1905, the winery today stands as a testament to the heritage, history and respect for tradition that permeates every aspect of this century-old family wine company. But to bask in the splendor of this history alone is to discount an important piece of the story; while staying true to their roots and maintaining an abiding respect for tradition, this producer has managed to embrace much of the best of modern technology and innovation through extensive upgrades and renovations to their cellars and a certain open-mindedness in their winemaking processes and protocols. Alfredo Roca Winery farms approximately 250 acres of vineyard across three distinct parcels, all within the San Rafael appellation. All situated at high elevation (some 800+ metres above sea level), these sites enjoy low rainfall, long hours of sunshine and significant shifts between day and night temperatures – all necessary virtues contributing to the production of fine wines.
