MAS DES BRESSADES
Cyril Mares, owner of Mas des Bressades, is a 6th generation winemaker and part of a winemaking family with footprints around the globe. Here in the northeastern portion of the Costières de Nîmes, Mas des Bressades has become an important source of high quality wines at a variety of price levels. Walking a stylistic line between the decadence and complexity of fine Rhônes and the rustic charm of the Languedoc, the Costières de Nîmes offers wines with a unique style and profile. All of the wines produced here showcase Rhône varieties grown on the estate, with reds comprised mainly of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault and whites from Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, and Viognier. With the Mares family’s deep roots in Bordeaux, these well-priced releases from Mas des Bressades reflect a level of pedigree, refinement, and elegance–which is unusual for wines from Costières de Nîmes.

EXPERT OPINION
“Rosés from Costières de Nîmes must comprise a minimum of 60% Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, with Carignan and Cinsault in support. This one is a perennial customer favourite, beloved for its charm and depth of expression. From one of the most reliable names in the Southern Rhône, it will offer vibrant, juicy, sunny fruit with savoury herb and garrigue tones. Perfect for grilled seafood, this will delight, plain and simple.” –Vintages Tasting Panel

90 / 100 Points: “Initial whiffs of smoke and earth blow off to reveal bright red plum and bramble aromas here. Dry and refreshingly tart, it offers crisp raspberry and strawberry flavors nuanced by hints of garrigue and crushed stone. Drink now.” –Anna L. C. Iijima, WineEnthusiast.com, January 2018
91 / 100 Points: “One of the darker, more traditional-styled rosés from the region (where the trend has been toward lighter and lighter-hued wines), Mas des Bressades’ 2017 Costieres de Nimes Rose Cuvee Tradition is a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Cinsault. It remains a standard-bearer for the region, showing plenty of texture and complexity. Subtle floral and dried spice notes accent berry fruit, it’s medium-bodied and silky, finishing long, refreshing and stony. And the price remains a bargain. What more could you want?” –J. Czerwinski, Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate
