2014 GAME RESERVE CHENIN BLANC
The label for this wine features the endangered South African Riverine Rabbit, an inhabitant of the wildlife reserve situated on Graham and Rhona Beck’s Robertson estate, Madeba. Produced from 100% Chenin Blanc from low yielding, 30 to 40 year old bush vines in Paarl and Stellenbosch, on ideal south eastern facing slopes, offering the perfect mix of wind, rain and lots of sunshine. A small percentage (7 %) of the Chenin Blanc was fermented in French Oak barrels to generate an added dimension of richness. You can check out the video tasting note for this wine here.

WITH FOOD
The complex nose in this white showcases tropical fruit, ripe pineapple, melon, peaches and honey flavours, lifted by a citrus element. Full and juicy palate with layers of ripe tropical fruit complemented by a long, clean, crisp and lingering aftertaste. This is ideally suited to al fresco lunches, and is also great with grilled chicken or fish, rich pasta dishes and spicy foods.

EXPERT OPINION
“South Africa is another place to look when searching for white wine values. Some lovely Sauvignon Blancs and Chardonnays are made there … but the best South African white wine bargains tend to made with Chenin Blanc or ‘Steen.’ They taste dry but have a floral note in the bouquet, and are blessed with a cornucopia of autumn fruit flavors. … for sheer pleasure … Graham Beck ‘The Game Reserve’ 2014.”
