RAPAURA SPRINGS
A single aquifer connecting these vineyards to the Wairau River gives rise to more than the name and label design at Rapaura Springs – it is also an essential source of water that feeds their vineyards. By either growing or sourcing grapes from all of the sub-appellations of Marlborough, Rapaura Springs produces a range of deeply concentrated and complex wines that serve as a distinctive introduction to one of the world’s best known sources for high quality Sauvignon Blanc. Receiving outstanding reviews and accolades from many top critics – both in New Zealand and around the world – this label has quickly emerged as a go-to source for amazing flavours and excellent value wines.

2017 RESERVE SAUVIGNON BLANC MARLBOROUGH
From the winemaker: Cooler temperatures during the 2017 growing season extended the ripening period and delivered trademark Marlborough flavours. Careful vineyard and crop management decisions were made to ensure fruit was harvested clean, phenologically ripe and full of flavour. Our Reserve Sauvignon Blanc is made from the finest parcels of fruit from our 2017 harvest and characterised by the rich, ripe tropical flavours and loverly palate weight found in the best examples of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit on the vine displayed excellent varietal intensity and, once pressed at the winery, the juice was cool fermented in stainless steel to retain those clean, crisp fruit flavours. Fruit from the Wairau Valley sub-region brings generous, ripe, passionfruit flavours, the Dillon’s Point imparts a delicious blackcurrant, herbal note and the Waihopai Valley offers a lovely mineral aspect to the wine.

WITH FOOD
This Reserve Sauvignon Blanc is full of bright lime and passionfruit aromas and works perfectly with seafood and lighter cream based dishes. There is a deeper flint minerality lending complexity to the crisp fruit flavours. These virtues make it an ideal candidate to serve alongside light and delicate seafood and fish dishes, or as a refreshing counterpoint next to richer white meats (like chicken or pork) or with creamy pasta dishes. Winemaker suggests creamy rock oysters!

ACCOLADES & PRESS
Gold Medal: New Zealand International Wine Show 2016
5 / 5 Stars: “Bright very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has a full voluminous and intensely packed nose with passionfruit and tropical fruit aromas along with the edgy herbs and snow peas, revealing subtle white floral elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has penetrating flavours of passionfruit and fresh herbs, with notes of tropical fruits, snow peas and cut grass. The palate is mouth-watering with zesty acidity, and the wine flows along a very fine-textured phenolic line with good tension and acidity. The wine carries to an elegant, long and sustained finish of passionfruit, herbs and nettles. This is an intense and penetratinf Sauvignon Blanc with aromas and flavours of passionfruit, edgy herbs, cut grass and tropical fruits on a zesty palate with very fine textures.” –Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
